The return to Marseille of OM fans after the match in Angers was marked by a terrible road accident.
On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a minibus carrying a dozen OM fans hit a truck from behind on the A85 at Mareuil-sur-Cher. An accident that left one dead, a young man of 23 years, and eight wounded transported to the nearest hospitals, in Romorantin and Blois, reveals France Bleu. The events took place at 1:30 a.m., and the conditions of the accident are not yet known and an investigation has been opened by the authorities on the spot.
The semi-trailer that was driving on the highway was hit from behind by the mini-bus of OM supporters. More than 40 firefighters and 10 ambulances quickly intervened for more than three hours for first aid and clear the injured. It was a convoy of four mini-buses that had left Angers after the match, and was therefore heading back to Marseille in the early morning. A terrible tragedy for the victims of this road accide and the OM family once again bereaved.
